Greetings from Susan Farris
“We are created in the image of a Creative God” Moving, inspiring, invigorating, life-altering, stirring, ….are all adjectives of worship. As the singers of songs, players of instruments, dancers, actors and painters, we have all joined together to unleash the arts, given to us by God to create transformational moments of worship.
We would like to welcome you to join us in this dance as we move forward on our knees, to bring people to a more intimate knowledge of our Lord. Other blog entries highlight many of the opportunities offered at Asbury to express yourself and use your gifts.
Please call with any questions. Blessings, Susan Farris
Adult Vocal
The Chancel Choir is open to all adults that would like to sing at the 8:45/10:30 worship services. We join for rehearsals and fellowship on Wednesdays at 6:45. We sing a mixed repertoire of music from the great composers of today and yesterday. Contact Susan Farris
The Men’s and Women’s ensembles meet on Sunday evenings at 5:00 and sing monthly August through June. This is a wonderful group singing many styles of music and growing together as a musical family.
Solo, duet and various ensembles
We are setting aside Tuesday nights for solo, duet and various ensemble rehearsals. In this, we hope to involve many more people in worship.

Handbells
A bell is a simple sound making device - but when placed in the service of praise by the hands of dedicated musicians, it becomes an instrument of worship. Since the days of the Israelites, bells have been rung in the worship of God – King David praised God with bells and cymbals. Bells were the primary musical instrument of the church in the middle ages, and their basic design has remained virtually unchanged to the present. Asbury offers you two opportunities to be a part of this unbroken peal of praise.
Asbury Ringers is an advanced group of handbell ringers who provide wonderful offerings in music for our congregation. Open positions are filled by audition. Directors: Heather Batchelor and Rosemary Ainsworth. Rehearsal is Wednesday at 6:00 in Room F001 in the basement of the Faith Building .
Wesley Ringers is a handbell group for those of all skill levels. Whether you are new to music or have been playing for years, you will find a home in this bell group. Rehearsals are Mondays at 11:45 in Room F001 in the basement of the Faith Building.
Director, Terry Jackson.

Voices of Christ
YOUTH MUSIC Voices of Christ
Attention all 7th-9th graders………Come join the Voices of Christ Choir at Asbury. Each choir year, we join together to learn what it means to be lead worshipers who delight in Jesus through ministry and mission in music.
Romans 15:3-4 (The MESSAGE)
“May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all. Then we'll be a choir—not our voices only, but our very lives singing in harmony in a stunning anthem to the God and Father of our Master Jesus!”
The VoC Choir ministers in worship services at Asbury, local outreach during the choir year, and a musical mission tour in the Spring.

Christ Has Risen In Singing Teens!
Welcome to the C.H.R.I.S.T Choir – Asbury’s choir for 10th – 12th graders! We would love to have you join our family! Our hope is to make seekers (YOU) into believers (YOU), so that you can be ministers (to THEM)!
We meet every Sunday night in the choir room from 5:00 – 6:00. At rehearsal we come together to prepare music for Sunday morning Worship and our Summer Mission Tour in June!
Each year the choir goes on a MISSION TOUR. We have performances at churches, retirement homes, boys and girls homes, and anywhere else they’ll allow us to sing! We participate in a Service Day on tour – our opportunity to serve others! And don’t forget the fun! We’ve gone to amusement parks, baseball games, zoos, cathedrals, etc. Choir tour is our opportunity to tell those outside our Asbury home of the love of our Heavenly Father, and the culmination of a fabulous year of singing for Christ!
So come join us September 7, in this awesome opportunity to sing God’s praises with a joyful heart!
